How to Dry Clean your Carpet in 4 easy steps!

Yes, so many people think Dry Cleaning Carpet is very expensive and that has to be done by professionals.
Yes it can be very expensive if you have to call a carpet cleaning company to dry clean your carpet every time you decide to clean them, but it can be very inexpensive if you can do it by yourself. Anyone with the right product and few instructions can di it without any problem. That's why I'm here. I'm here to teach you what most of the companies out there don't want you to know.
I'm sure that today, if you have an Oriental Area Rug, you are paying a good amount of money to have it "professionally" cleaned, can you imagine you cleaning it yourself and saving all that cash for your kids or even for yourself? Just an idea, if you have an area rug measuring 10 X 14 you are going to pay at least $235.00 every time you want it cleaned, and I'm sure you know what you can do with this money, right? And there's another problem here, do you remember the last time you have the same area rug cleaned and you did not like the cleaning result? You tried to call the company and they were putting you on hold for days, or even weeks? And then, they show up on your home again, taking off your time, getting there late, making you late for everything else you had to do? I know this is very frustrating, and you don't have to deal with that anymore, just follow the easy steps I will show you and I can guarantee you will be very happy with the final result.

Let me first explain you the methodology about Dry Carpet Cleaning, or Encapsulation Cleaning Process: this method of cleaning is not designed to correct any high soiled carpet to its "like new" appearance, it is intended to keep the Carpet in its cleanest way avoiding to get too soiled or dirty, if your Carpet is in a very bad soiled situation, I will recommend you have it cleaned by a professional first and then, maintained using the method I will teach you here.
What happens when you dry clean your Carpet? The powder you apply in the Carpet acts like a sponge for the dirt, it attracts the dirt and crystallizes it, making it very easy to be vacuumed off. The powder also removes some spots/stains in the process but, we recommend you have the "Carpet Spotting Kit" to treat hard to remove spots prior to the cleaning. I will explain in details how to remove spots using the dry cleaning method in my article on "How to remove spots using the Encapsulation Process".
Now let's go back to the original matter of this article:

"HOW TO DRY CLEAN YOUR CARPET IN 4 EASY STEPS"

* First of all, let me give you a list of what you will need:

1- Carpet Cleaning Capture Powder
2- Carpet Cleaning Pre-Spray
3- Hand Pump Sprayer
4- Carpet Groomer
5- Vacuum Cleaner

Its always recommended you vacuuming the entire carpet before you start the cleaning procedures, it will remove any dry losing soil from the fibers.
Now lets get started:

- Step 1: Spread a very light coat of Carpet Cleaning Capture Powder evenly over a 10 X 10 feet area.
- Step 2: Spray the Carpet Cleaning Pre-Spray over the powdered area using the Pump Sprayer at a
mixed rate listed on the Bottle Label, make sure to follow the directions on the label.
- Step 3: Broom the powder into the carpet fibers and let it stand for half an hour.
(if you noticed a high amount of dust from the powder, just spray a little bit more solution and you should be ok)

Repeat steps 1 to 3 until all areas are covered with the powder and solution. (do not over spray)
Let the product stand on the carpet for at least 30 minutes.

- Step 4: Vacuuming the entire carpeted areas until all powder is removed. Make sure the vacuuming is done slow and try to over pass meaning vacuuming an area at least twice.

And you know what? That's done.
Now, more often you repeat all the process, longer your Carpet will stay cleaner and fresh.

Understanding the Carpet Cleaning Concept.

First, what to say about carpet; it depends on softness, feeling touch, freshness, free of bacteria and dirt, and must look nice and even. How can you get all of that? Keeping your carpet clean all the time (we say that carpet should be cleaned at least once a month). Most people say that cleaning the carpet every month can cost you tons of dollars and can even damage the carpet, listen, this is not right. Cleaning your carpet more often will prolong the life of the carpet and will make your indoor life healthier, and best of all, it doesn't need to be expensive, we all know about the concept of "Do it yourself" don't we? So, why you can not do it yourself than, oh, you don't know how, no worries, if you keep following me with my articles, you will see that carpet cleaning is not that hard and you can save a lot of money and have some fun doing it.
Now, let me tell you the different processes we have to clean carpet:

- Shampoo Scrubbing followed by Hot Water Extraction.
- Solution Pre-sprayed followed by Hot Water Extraction.
- Dry Cleaning or Encapsulation Cleaning.
- Bonnet Cleaning.
- Foam Cleaning.
- Ozone Cleaning.

Some cleaning methods like Shampoo and Extraction, Solution Pre-Sprayed, Foam Cleaning, and Ozone Cleaning were designed for the professional people because they need some specialty machines and chemicals but, the method considered the most expensive (the dry cleaning or Encapsulation Cleaning Processes) can be easily done by yourself. It involves no special equipment and no special training (probably this is something that no cleaning companies want you to know).
In my next article I will tell you "How to Dry Clean your home carpet in 4 easy steps", and be very happy with the results.
For now, I just want to point out a few things you can do to make your carpet looks better and clean:

1- Vacuuming the traffic areas once a day with the entire carpeted areas done once a week.
2- Install some walk-off-mats on all doorways leading to outside the house like main entrance,
balconies, backdoor, etc, and put one by your kitchen sink as well.
3- Remove spots from the carpet as soon as they appear, have a "Carpet Spotting Kit" handy.
4- Avoid walking on carpet with shoes, especially on rainy days.

This few steps should help you in keeping your carpet cleaner for longer.
In the future articles we will be talking about pet stain removal and some other hard to remove spots, in the mean time if you have any questions, you can follow them to canadawaycontracting@gmail.com
